About the accommodation
Herdade de Vale Covo is located within the Guadiana Valley Natural Park along the river between Mértola and Serpa in the Alentejo, southern Portugal. The house was an old hunting place, today restored, surrounded by 184 hectares of Mediterranean forest and aromatic plants. It is possible to visit the plantation of aromatic plants of lavender, rosemary, geranium and our distillery where we produce 100% natural essential oils from organic agriculture. Meals are made with natural and organic products. We also serve vegetarian dishes. There are 5 double rooms with private bathroom and central heating. During winter meals they are served by the fireplace in the lounge. A covered patio and a 60 m2 swimming pool with a panoramic view of the Guadiana Valley ensure pleasant freshness in summer.
