Fifth and last time! Where to start? First of all, it has to be said that the establishment has become a shadow of its former self, as the quality of most of its services leaves much to be desired. It all starts at check-in. I waited no less than 45 minutes before being able to check in. The reason was the staff's inability to cope with the flood of arrivals. Then I was faced with a situation that was, to say the least, Ubuesque. I wanted to sit by the pool, but the beach attendant told me that in view of the crowd, it would be difficult for him to find me a deckchair. I insisted on having at least one by the beach, but received the same negative response. In other words, as a guest of the hotel, it was difficult for me to get a deckchair. It was only after a complaint to reception - I demanded a sunbed or I'd have my stay refunded - that a place was found for me. It's clear that the beach operators sell deckchairs on behalf of external customers. So that's how my stay got off to a bad start. Prices in the hotel are exorbitant. A beer costs 11 dinars and a Marguerite pizza 38 dinars! On top of that, the service is catastrophic. The hotel's standing has also plummeted. From now on, for example, guests can stroll through the main lobby shirtless, without any comment from the staff. Breakfast is unworthy of a 5-star hotel. No freshly squeezed juices, just industrial juices in big barrels. The waiters are looking for tips when they're supposed to be serving you; they make you understand that there's a self-service corner for coffee. All in all, a lot of staff for very little. The rooms are decent, but nothing more. The chambermaid didn't see fit to restock my shower gel in a week. This hotel, as mediocre as it has become, has a few rare satisfactions: its architecture, its spa and its (tiny) fitness room, where the instructors are nevertheless attentive and mostly pleasant. One thing's for sure, I'll never set foot in Sousse's movenpick again.

Cinquième et dernière fois ! Par quoi commencer ? Tout d’abord, force est de constater que l’établissement est devenu l’ombre de lui-même, tant la qualité de la majorité des prestations laissent à désirer. Tout débute au Check in. J’ai attendu pas moins de 45 minutes avant de pouvoir m’enregistrer. En cause, l’incapacité du personnel à gérer le flot des arrivées. Ensuite, j’ai fait face à une situation pour le moins ubuesque. Souhaitant m’installer au bord de la piscine, le plagiste m’a signalé qu’au vu du monde il lui serait difficile de pouvoir me trouver un transat. J’ai tout de même insisté pour en avoir au moins un au bord de la plage; j’ai eu droit à la même réponse négative. Dit autrement, en tant que client de l’hôtel il m’était compliqué d’avoir un transat. C’est seulement après une plainte à la réception - j’ai sommé d’avoir un transat sinon j’exigerais un remboursement de mon séjour - qu’une place m’a été trouvée. Il est clair que les plagistes font commerce des transats pour le compte de clients externes. Voilà donc comment mon séjour a - mal - débuté. Les prix au sein de l’hôtel sont exorbitants. Une bière coûte 11 dinars et une pizza Marguerite 38 dinars ! Par-dessus, le service est catastrophique. Le standing de l’établissement s’est également écroulé. Dorénavant, et à titre d’exemple, les clients se baladent dans le hall principal à torse nu, sans aucune remarque de la part du personnel. Le petit-déjeuner est indigne d’un hôtel 5 étoiles. Pas de jus pressés que des jus industriels dans des grosses barriques. Les serveurs sont à la recherche de pourboire alors qu’ils sont censés vous servir; ils vous font comprendre qu’il existe un coin self-service pour le café. En somme, beaucoup de personnel pour pas grand chose. Les chambres sont correctes, sans plus. La femme de chambre n’a pas jugé utile, en une semaine, de me réapprovisionner en gel douche. Cet hôtel, aussi médiocre qu’il devenu, comporte quelques rares satisfactions: son architecture, son spa et sa salle de fitness (minuscule) où les instructrices sont malgré tout à l’écoute et majoritairement agréables. Une chose est sûre, je ne mettrai plus les pieds au movenpick de Sousse.
